Four stripes on my LG tv screen

Featured Replies

It's a big LG tv in my rented condo. After half a year the tv screen shows four stripes as shown on the pictures. They come and go but in the last time they seem to be permanent. Before starting stress with the condo owner, I would like to get your expert advice whether this can be repaired easily or the whole tv has to be exchanged. Thanks a lot.

Are the stripes the same no matter what the input source is?

Common with LG/ Dell screens. It comes from something hitting the monitor/ tv.

You can sometimes fix it by putting some pressure on the screen at the top near where the lines begin but it may be permanent.

Generally they show up when the monitor/ tv is turned on for 2-3 minutes and then they dissapear but your mileage may vary.

I have the same on a Samsung television, I have 7 lines in total. Samsung service centre told me its a LCD block. 9000 baht to repair. You will find more and more will appear in time. (You do get used to it after a while).

There color depend on the background, as you can see on the picture. They show up now always. Pressure on the screen has no impact.

Google "scan lines lcd" and you will get a host of information.
