A Thai Expat Food (Improvement) Paradigm Possibility

Featured Replies

What I'm saying is in Canada we get stuff I cannot get in Thailand..I don't think..but I want to know!

These are things that could impact your health in a concrete, positive way.

I'm talking about things I get here and use regularly, AND I'm hoping that Thailand ( read Macro ) will have when I go back to the LOS soon..

1. Skim milk with zero cholesterol (or trans fat)

2. Organic Oatmeal

3. Organic whole wheat (for baking)

4. Organic fruit of all types

5. Protein powder with zero sugar or cholesterol

6. Egg whites in Bulk ( 6 - 2 liter containers for the equiv. of 1,500 Baht - freeze 5 and one for the fridge - as they last 3 weeks or so in the fridge)

7. Shreddies cereal - zero sugar and salt - made from non- GMO wheat

8. Plain Yogurt, no added sugar ( wish I could find some in Thailand)

That's just a start, but in 2 plus years of using more of these types of products, I've lost 9 kilos, (stopped drinking beer too though), got blood pressure and cholesterol way down ( along with exercise, and bloody lots of it), but my many personality disorders remain and so can you..

QUESTION: Anyone seen some of these types of products in Thailand yet? They aren't everywhere here, and you have to source things, so I imagine they are a few years behind in the LOS - there's an idea for some of you business-types.

I know some of you have organic mangoes and mangosteen..thumbsup.gif

Crap..giggle.gif I forgot perhaps the most important item - you can get alkaline and oxygen - enriched water here, 60 liters for the equiv. of 600 Baht.

In Thailand I shower in Naam Grou ( Half fresh - half sea water.. )

btw.. 50% of drinking water sold in N.America is straight out of the tap!

I'm pretty sure I've seen organic oatmeal here.

I buy Yolida plain yogurt all the the time. No added sugar. Low fat. Live cultures.

thanks for the heads up

I think you would be okay in Bangkok for these, apart possibly for the egg whites, but while i have seen a few of these things in tesco/makro,organic i am not so sure about,as i am sure you know r&Y, the Thai's don't seem to be real big on that.

Thanks, I am hopeful I'll be able to find most of the good stuff, as opposed to bringing that 4'th suitcase

NOTE: 3 suitcases are full of gifts for the extended Thai family, thanks to the wifethumbsup.gif Every time we go over to Thailand there are new additions to the family..imagine that!
