Two hand grenades found in a Bangkok condo unit
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Two hand grenades were found in a Bangkok condominium unit yesterday by workers who were renovating the place after it had been nailed shut for 20 years, police said.

Pol Lt-General Sriwara Ransibrahmanakul, commissioner of Metropolitan Police Bureau, said the US-made M-26 grenades were retrieved safely by authorities. The incident had nothing to do with politics or domestic security, he said. Police are interviewing the former owner of the unit, Saengjan Rojjanaphaithoon, 61, former wife of Maj-General Rangsan, 71, over her possession of the US-made M-26 grenades.

Citing residents of Nirand Condo Building G, Sriwara said the current owner bought the unit from Saengjan for Bt170,000, after it had been nailed shut for 20 years. The four workers hired to renovate the room found the two grenades in a closet and notified the police.

Doesn't everybody have grenades in their cupboard? It's the best way to deal with noisy cats!

170k for a condo? This year or 20 years ago?

It was empty for 20 years, then bought for 170,000 baht. It doesn't state which year it was actually bought, though one would reasonably assume quite recently.
