Tortillas, Bread, and Cheese...Do you know a good seller in bulk?

I have a small "farang" food shop and I will like to include tacos on the menu, but I cannot find a good seller, in quality and price, of Mexican tortilla and cheese in my area. My shop just opened in Chiang Rai. Also need to find a new bakery to get our Panino bread.

If you know, please let me know.

Thanks.

macro sells all of what you need.

I do suggest that you train a few staff and make your own tortillas. There is nothing like them. commercially manufactured ones are 1 step above paper.

Makro's prices for tortillas are pretty expensive, but their prices for bulk cheeses are OK.

For general Mexican products, you as a restaurateur can buy directly from El Charro

This is an old price list of theirs, but it should give you some idea of their product and prices.

They actually have more varieties and types of tortillas than I'm showing you here.

There's a Casa Fiesta (Bruce Foods) distributor in Bangkok who'll ship to you--I forgot the phone # but search their website and send them an email.

That's interesting about them having a local distributor if it's still true... I've seen and been buying their products in the local stores here, particularly the Makro at Chong Nonsi, which has a pretty decent and decently priced selection.

But there are other things Makro doesn't stock. CF, for example, does a canned pinto beans with sliced jalapenos that I grew to like a lot during a time when Villa Markets stocked them along with other CF products last year... But all this calendar year, pretty much all or most of CF's products seem to have disappeared off the shelves at Villa, including the never yet returned pintos with jalapenos.

^^^^^ we got two shipments a month for ~3 years--until 4 months ago when we leased the restaurant out and the new gal changed the menu

I'll try to find the Bangkok distributor's contact #--but don't hold your breathtongue.png

Were you just paying local prices to buy stock from the distributor here...or... were you paying to buy from them in the U.S. and have the stuff shipped here?

I also sent an email to the company via their website last night....since I couldn't find any distributor contact info anywhere on their website...

Couple of days have passed, and no answer to my email to Bruce Foods/Casa Fiesta.... Guess I'll try giving them a phone call next week.
