Has anybody seen Swarfega on sale in Thailand?

Featured Replies

I used to use Swarfega a lot in the UK working on cars etc but now I only work on gardening stuff though I do get oil and grease on me.

Has anybody seen Swarfega for sale in Thailand?

I had to clean this mornings crap off with gasoline and then wash and scrub myu hands and I can still smell a bit of gasohol 91.

Ah the lovely green gloop, don't ya just lurve the smell? :)

Nope, not seen it here :(

I find that washing powder used on damp paws shifts the majority of the grease (and the oils in your hands, you need to pinch some of Wifey's moisturiser).

For those who don't know http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swarfega

I made my own this weekend.

One part Jif cooker cleaner to two parts liquid hand soap. Job done.

Now I don't have to go to the swimming pool for an hour to get my hands clean!

I use Sunlite (dish washer). It works, and warm water helps tremendously.

Before trying some fancy stuff:

try a women hair shampoo. You will be surprised about the result.

(so much about the "mild"/"nurtering" shampoo)

Thank you for all the tips.

@Crossy When I was in the RAF it used to come in 7lb tins and there were always 3 or 4 tins at the camp motor club. Sadly that was 30 odd years ago and in another world.

@KhunBENQ. I am not brave enough to nick my wife's hair shampoo though at the moment she and some of her family are making their own shampoo and shower gel from entirely natural ingredients found locally.

No guarantee for this to work tongue.png

Buy a cheap one from the store.

Not swarfega but permatex fast orange hand cleaner is available, works well to clean my hands of grease and grime after I have been working on the car.

Available where?

I get it from Hardware house, 98% sure I have seen it at Thai Watsadu as well.

Thanks! It is on the shopping list. My handy-size tub of Swarfega is almost empty. I used Fast Orange before in the US and it smells so much better than the green gunk. There was also another white colored one called GOJO from the US that left an equally bad odour.

I was on a rig last year and they was using that GOJO it was like a white cream, when I was an apprentice many moons ago we use to mix in sawdust with the Swarfega to give it some bite.

The orange stuff is good kit.

Mixing sugar or salt will give it an extra abrasive bite. Works with sunlight dish soap too.
