Buddhists and Muslims visit 4th Annual Yala Fair

YALA, 13 June 2015 (NNT) - Yala Chamber of Commerce last night kicked off the 4th annual Yala Fair with goals of stimulating the local economy and regaining the public confidence.

The event, which would last until tomorrow, offers a wide range of products and foods from both Thai Buddhists and Thai Muslims who have been affected by the southern violence in the province.

The fair’s main objectives are to boost the province’s economy, gaining the public confidence, generating income, relieving stress from the southern violence, and preparing the area for the arrival of ASEAN Economic Community.

The provincial chamber of commerce hoped that the fair would bring back the economic momentum affected by the violent incidents in the region. The office also deemed that the event would boost morale for the locals who are constantly facing dangers in their daily lives.
