looking for bungalow to rent for 5 weeks from mid July

Featured Replies

Hello I am looking for a bungalow to rent from 15th July for 5 weeks in the Chiang Mai area. I dont know the area at all. Somewhere reasonably quiet and safe. I have spent plenty of time in Thailand over the years just never been CM.

I would appreciate any recommendations. I am in my 40's and accompanying my daughter who will spend the time with her Mother.

A good base to explore from. I will also probably rent a small motorbike thai style.

Any recomnendations greatly appreciated.

mantpy thanks.

Bungalow" is a UK term and few outside would have any idea of what you mean.

You're looking for a single story house no doubt. I can't see too many wanting to rent out for 5 weeks. It's usually 6 months or a year.

I'd suggest a guest house. There's some nice ones around and you would find it less of a shock than say a small house surrounded by dogs, karaoke and so on. Just Google Chiang Mai guest houses.

Are you well and truly experienced in motor bikes? I'd venture to say you're taking a big risk. The traffic here is not the most organised I've ever seen, and expecting trucks or buses or cars to indicate before pulling out in front of you, is being hopeful, or even stopping for a red light . Don't try and join the 500 fatalities per week. Use a local mini bus (song teaw) which will get you around the city for 20baht each. or a tuk-tuk for 100baht for a trip of a couple of kilometres.

This is not the UK or that Kansas place...

google or go and do some work yourself .... coffee1.gif then you may find something appropriate ....

For a short stay like that I think AirBnB.com is your best bet.

(Regardless of any regional differences in the definition of 'bungalow'. ;) )

yeah right ! bungalow , shack , villa .... what ever ..... just give me a place to stay !! gigglem.gif
