Looking for Jungle Hammock

Featured Replies

I would like to buy a jungle hammock (in the Bangkok area). Anyone know where I can find one?

By Jungle Hammock, I mean the ones with full mosquito netting that you zip yourself into and with a kind of roof (which is not always storm-proof, but I will be hanging it out on a roofed veranda so that’s not a big issue).

I had one in the late 1960s when I was hitchhiking around the northeastern USA, and what I fondly remember is how cool it was and how it kept the biting critters out.

Thanks for any info.

The most comprehensive range of camping/survival equipment I've seen so far in Bangkok is the set of shops in the Amarin shopping centre -reached by walkway from Chitlom BTS. Second floor, I think. I definitely saw some pricey looking hammocks there, but whether they had your exact spec I couldn't say as I was looking for sleeping bags.

Not a hammock, but very handy. Cot with a tent on it. Cost 3,900 baht at Super Sports in the Central World Mall. I bought it about 3 months ago.

Don't know if you could get one in Bangkok except mail order but I had one of these and camped with it for years. Great product.

I've really enjoyed mine as well. If you can find one, definitely worth a look.
