First the Brit who managed to end his life and now the German who appears to have tried. Is this the tale of woe of the elderly who come to Thailand to live out their sunset years?

Every week some Farangs decide to make an exit from paradise. The reasons? Just to name a few:

- Falling for "sure fire investment schemes". Proposed by a Thai or a Farang is irrelevant. The end result will be: Money gone!

- Falling for a professional female "Gold-Digger" with many years of experience. The end result will also be: Money gone !

- Serious health problems (sometimes arriving overnight) with insufficient or non existing health insurance coverage. Again: Money gone !

To end up in Thailand penniless must be the ultimate nightmare. Especially if all the bridges were burnt in their home country before.

In a situation like this, I can understand that some Farangs, having run out of any alternatives, will decide upon the final and irreversible "solution", having realized that the Paradise of yesterday has turned into a living nightmare.

Cheers.
