Hi,

I think currently there's only a bus service connecting the two.

Has anyone had an experience with it? Can anyone advise regarding the timings, comfort etc. ?

Cheers

Yes, there are a couple of 'VIP' buses. Standard varies enormously, but there are a lot more new Chinese buses on the roads now. They are at least better than the old lean-to buses with no aircon. If the times don't suit, you might like to look into sharing a taxi. A distance such as that should only be US$20 per person. Guesthouses/hotels often know when and where they are leaving from and can arrange accordingly.

I'm in Naypyitaw right now. There's probably a bus to Bagan from the bus station but I'm not sure. I'm travelling by private car with driver and this city is HUGE and almost devoid of traffic or people. Without a transfer to the bus station you may end up walking 10-20km yourself. Unless the bus agrees to pick you up from the hotel, though this is unlikely.
