Myanmar's president seeks Japanese investment

Myanmar's President Thein Sein says he hopes to attract more investment from Japan to promote economic development.

Thein Sein is in Tokyo to attend the Mekong-Japan Summit that begins on Saturday.

He told NHK on Thursday that he has been steadily guiding Myanmar toward democracy since the transfer of power from a military government to a civilian administration four years ago.

He said the ruling and opposition parties are holding discussions about the country's future in parliament.

I wish him every success....the current Chinese investment seems to be all one way and not, in my experience, wanted by the Myanmar people.
