Councilman suggests banning tour buses from Beach Road

Ronakit Ekasingh said he sympathizes with people complaining, but said it’s not currently possible to ban buses from Beach Road..



PATTAYA: -- A Pattaya lawmaker has suggested banning buses and other large vehicles from Beach Road as tour operators continue to ignore complaints and traffic laws.

U.S. Lifts Sanctions on Wife of Myanmar Tycoon

Owner of cargo ship sunk off Phuket liable for all recovery costs

The cargo ship Sinaran Andaman, registered in Phnom Penh, struck rocks off Koh Hei on Wednesday.

PHUKET: -- Phuket Governor Nisit Jansomwong has stated that the owner of the cargo ship which sunk off of Koh Hei (Coral Island) on Tuesday (July 7) will be fully responsible for all recovery costs, including the cost of the recovery permit issued by the Marine Office.

Police tried to manipulate Koh Tao witness, court told

KRABI: -- A fourth crewman from the barge that sunk of Koh Racha Yai before dawn on Tuesday (July 7) has today (July 10) been found alive by crew of a foreign registered yacht near Koh Ngai just south of Koh Lanta Yai and close to where Krabi province joins Trang.

Chinese invite Thais to check on repatriated Uighurs

Red-shirt admits to spreading false rumours about PM

BANGKOK: -- A 45-year-old member of the red-shirt movement, who was arrested on Thursday, Friday confessed to spreading false rumours about Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha, but added that she had no intentions to destabilise the state. She also said she had invoked her rights as a Thai citizen to criticise the premier.

Rinda Paruechabutr is accused of breaching the Computer Crimes Act, Article 116 of the Criminal Code and for giving rise to panic. She was arrested under Article 44 of the provisional charter on Thursday in Pathum Thani province for circulating false allegations that Prayut and his wife Naraporn had transferred Bt10 billion to a bank in Singapore.

THAI cancels flights to and from Bali

BANGKOK: -- Thai Airways International (THAI) has cancelled flights between Bangkok and Bali, Indonesia because of poor visibility caused by thick clouds of ash following the eruption of Raung Volcano.

THAI said in a press statement that its two daily flights, which are TG 431 Bangkok-Denpasar and TG 432 Denpasar-Bangkok, were suspended until further notice. The company said it will resume the flights as soon as Denpasar Airport reopens.

Passengers heading to Bali during this period are encouraged to follow updates or check flight schedules by visiting the company's website www.thaiairways.com or calling the THAI Contact Center at telephone number 02-356-1111.
