I was quite surprised to be given a 1 year multiple entry non-o for marriage without any financial evidence required at the London Embassy. Just copy of Marriage Certificate and Wife's ID Card required. Issued next day for 125 quid. Application and Collection, in and out in 5 minutes each time.

Nowadays it would be impossible to open a bank account in Thailand without applying personally at the bank, and perhaps this has always been the case. Therefore, it would be unreasonable for a Thai consulate or embassy to require evidence of funds deposited in an account in Thailand.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place. — George Bernard Shaw

Yes, that's fine if you live in London or even that part of the UK, bus or train fare return from Glasgow to London plus a hotel, and travel around London, very expensive

and as far as I know you have to go personally, no post accepted.

I will just ride my motorbike to Savannakhet, much, much cheaper, and an enjoyable road trip.

The embassy has been accepting applications by post since January of 2014. The consulates since then cannot accept them,

Why would you go to London from Glasgow since there is honorary consulate there where you could apply.

Thanks Joe, I know there is a Consulate in Glasgow, so are you saying the Glasgow consulate will accept an application for a multiple entry marriage visa?

Yes they will accept the application. They will email or fax the application to London for approval and then do the visa after approval.

It may take a couple of days to get the visa done.

That's normal - I have been doing this for sometime now although I normally route this through the Thai Consulate in Hull by post as travelling to London is expensive these days - but if you are in a hurry and they are not too busy. What works one day may not be so quick another.

No need for Thai Bank deposit but evidence of earnings may be required.

Its pretty normal for a Thai consulate to issue a O Visa to a married man without any financial proof, what seems unusual here is that London is a embassy and not a consulate.

The 400k requirement is for an annual extension of stay anyway and not for a O vIsa, annual extensions of stay can only be applied for and obtained in Thailand, not the UK.

Just received a new multiple Non 'O' based on marriage. The application was posted on Wednesday afternoon and returned on Saturday morning. No issues with the embassy whatsoever.
