Retirement visa from Savannakhet

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me what the current requirements are to get a retirement visa from Savannakhet? I know each embassy and consulate have their own list, but the only website for the Savannakhet consulate I can find is in Thai only.

It would be best to go to Vientiane to get a single entry non-o for being 50 or over. Savannakhet has denied them in the past.

You will just need your passport to prove you age and a bank book showing 800k baht or proof of 65k baht income or a combination of the 2 totaling 800k baht.

Thanks. It's actually for someone I know who has just moved to Thailand from Holland. He's set to go to Savannakhet on Monday as his first 30 days is up, and I guess he can sound the consulate out while he's there for the day and then maybe go to Vientienne when his 15 days land border entry is up. In the meantime, he can approach his embassy.
