Monteera Resort Det Udom

Featured Replies

MeMock ... I see you're on line at the moment.

Is the Monteera still in operation and furthermore, have the owners sorted out the chlorine level in the pool yet!!?

Thanks!!

Khun Han, a small amphur town 25km west of Kantaralak has a resort with a nice pool. Bit small (the pool - I'm guessing about 10m x 6m) but attractively sited with a bar and restaurant. German owner who wasn't around when I checked it out last week but the boys in the bar in Kantaralak say he's good value. Food looks fine - the goulash I tried was excellent. Didn't check out the bungalows but they looked quite pretty from outside.

Things to do:

Bottle temple in town - wat and all other temple buildings made out of several million bottkes

Buy and eat fruit in the KH market (Amphur's Kant and KH are mini Chantaburis when it comes to fruit) - I like to get a belt of vitamins from that foul-smelling super-fruit Durian which is still in season).

Bike the lake - there's a pretty little ice-cream/coffee bar (beer in the fridge) on the South east corner

Go swimming and picnicing at the Samrong Kiat waterfall 15km south of town. Makes for a great half day and water levels will be good for the next 5 months

Come get a good pizza at Norbert's Pizza4u bar in Kantharalak

Explore the hills on the Camby border - I'm guessing you have probably done the

Drop by and say hello in baan Santisuk! Also have nice pool

Thanks Santi. The main reason for the trip was to visit the waterfall in Na Chaluai, but certainly that whole area is a favourite of ours.

Thanks for the offer!!!
