Two men busted for drugs after police raid their Phuket home

Supawit and Worawut were arrested last night (August 21) after police raided their rented room in Chalong

PHUKET: Two men were arrested last night (August 21) after police raided their rented room and found them in possession of an unregistered gun, bullets and cooked kratom leaves.

The Provincial Police narcotics suppression unit, led by Lt Ritthichai Chumchoy, arrested two men from Nakhon Si Thammarat, Supawit Sirirak, 23, and Worrawut Saeloy, 28, with 45 grams of cooked kratom leaves, an unregistered 12 gauge gun and two shotgun shells at their rented room in soi Yodsanae 2 in Chalong at 10pm.

Lt. Ritthichai said the arrest of the two came after undercover police reported that the suspects were using their rented room as a place for local teens to hang out and take drugs.

Undercover officers had been monitoring their activity for a while and at 9:30pm, police raided the room after receiving a report of suspicious activity taking place.

"The room was open and we found Supawit and Worawut inside. When we searched the room, we discovered an unregistered gun and bullets in the room and cooked kratom in a plastic bottle in the bathroom."

"Both men said that all items belonged to their roommate Damrongsak Petchwong who was at work when police searched their room," said Lt Ritthichai.

The two men were taken to Provincial police station and were charged with illegal possession of Category 5 drug and illegal possession of firearm. Supawit and Worawut will then be sent to Chalong police station to face their charges.

These guys are from Nakhon Si Thammarat which means they are guilty.

And likely in an instant the justice system will destroy quite completely a couple of lives. Lucky the police got to them in time before the drugs really wrecked their lives and made them outcasts in their community. And damn, glad that gun is off the street, cause with all the armed gangs around all involved in the most wonderful gift that keeps on giving, prohibition, there is just so much money up for grabs.

And with absolutely no probable cause to raid their apartment, other than two dudes staying in the same room being kinda suspicious I'd say this just shows how really awesome Thailand police are, woeful the journalists are.
