Thailand may not be the right country to look for buddhist teachings.

Take a trip to Europe, and walk into any library there.

Why ?

I am surprised a country like Thailand don't give basic classes to the public.

And what would they teach in those classes in Thailand?

Real buddhism? About non attachment to material possessions? About pacifism? Would that not conflict with Thai reality?

I read a lot about buddhism before I came to Thailand. I came to the conclusion that there is a basic flaw in it, and that buddhism is not for me, but I can respect it.

However I can not respect Thai buddhism.

Just like I can not respect Blair / Bush christianism.

The Buddhist Education Foundation (Taiwan) has many books on Buddhism - many levels, many languages, many schools.

But be aware, they are for FREE distribution.

I heard about flaws , claims debunked by science and logic defying claims in Christianity, but not Buddhism.

I mean if a flawed religion like Christianity can give weekly talk, why not Buddhism ?
