Recommendations For Vietnam Vacation

Featured Replies

Hi,

Planning to have a vacation in Vietnam coming January,

any recommendation for Vibrant, good food and night life

place ?

Cost not a factor.

Well, Saigon would be the main place to go for nightlife and more action...it's no Bangkok, but I found it very nice and the French and Vietnamese food was great.

Stayed at the Sofitel there, very nice luxury hotel with pretty decent prices (through travel consolidator websites, though, not their own site)

Both Saigon and Hanoi are really great places for a vacation in vietnam.

Why not try Dalat/Hoi an/Hue all interesting places in their own right

Nha Trang is good for an all round mix of things plus has a fairly decent beach and diving opportunties.. Saigon and Hanoi are both good, cant say which i prefered though theyre both very individual i thought..

Hoi An was one of my favourites though - very relaxing but still with a good mix of bustle

Spent a week in Vietnam in july.Three days in Saigon and then by hydrofoil to Vung Tau which is a beach resort about 1 1/2 hours away.Lots of shopping in large stores and markets TGF could not get any spicy food the vietnamese food tends to be more sweet and sour.I think a few days in Saigon would have been enough.
