September 7, 201510 yr Love the last line of that article: "At some point soon, the Thai government will have to be more forthright about the investigation if it wants Thais, and the international community, to trust the information it does release." Look at the Koh Tao murder, the threats against the media when the human trafficking story started to emerge, and all the les majeste cases. The government wants serious control of its people so release of real information is not likely to happen for a decade. Thailand wants to be an island in the modern world. That wont happen in my life time
September 8, 201510 yr Along with the domestic implication of the article, the detail I found interesting, and hadn't occurred to me prior to reading it, was the mention that the bomb attack occurred on a Monday -- which is well known and understood locally as a day when Thai street vendors are not allowed on the main road in BKK, even in the evening hours. Just a coincidence of timing? Or planned deliberately by someone(s) local in origin with the intent of somewhat sparing locals at the expense of outsiders?
