"JS 100 Radio Station interviewed an astrologer who said it might be a meteorite which could fall day and night."

Astrologer ? Astronomer more likely.

I'm killing a chicken tonight, for its entrails of course, to validate that we are not all doomed.

Armageddon: Bangkok almost hit by asteroid (VIDEO)
By Coconuts Bangkok

BANGKOK: -- A mysterious fireball seen in the sky above Bangkok this morning was not an alien invasion, but simply a small asteroid that said hello to Earth.

A dashcam video taken on Ngam Wong Wan road shows the fireball plunging from outer space before exploding mid-air.

The fireball was also seen from other provinces including Kanchanaburi, Saraburi and Uthai Thani.

The locals should remain unfazed like this guy in Russia.. :D

Meteors it the earth every day so what is so significant about this one? Maybe the gods are angry with the LOS?

Meteor?

I can see it ! A big white triangle with a white halo round it , most impressive.

Looks like a meteorite to me !

"Looks like a meteorite to me !"

As some others on TVF have taken the trouble to explain, what you think you saw was possibly a meteoroid.

Later today maybe someone will come forward with a large chunk of debris from said meteoroid.

That would be a "meteorite". Right?

I didn't know Thailand had an AREA HA NEUNG. Must be in South Pattaya, plenty of weird aliens down there. Somewhat like a Star Wars canteena.

There has to be a winning lottery number associated with this

somewhere,time of day,area in landed in,date.

This was commented upon a couple of posts ago, Little Sir Echo, or don't you read other people's posts?

Somebody is going to come home from work and find a hole in their roof.

.........the question I would ask is 'Where did it impact'....

...you know some people are announcing the end of the world on the 28th,,,,huge meteor hitting Puerto Rico......

If it's aliens looking for other intelligent life forms, they came to the wrong place.

Somebody is going to come home from work and find a hole in their roof.

Or even worse, they find their roof in a hole.rolleyes.gif

There was a big explosion today in Pattaya. I wonder if there are somehow related ?

Two big events this morning. One North of Bangkok...and the other in Pattaya. Interesting day so far...

I hope this fireball is not considered an enemy of the state. Can we talk about it? Will it hurt the reputation of the Kingdom? Will it cause high-end tourists to avoid the country if they happen to hear about it? Could it have come from the direction of Turkey? Can we do a reenactment?

We need answers

Still waiting on the DNA evidence. After falling It was last seen in a green and yellow cab.

Fireball in the sky is a small meteorite

47-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- The fireball which was seen in the sky Monday morning by many people in Bangkok and a few other central provinces was a small meteorite which passed through the Earth’s atmosphere at high speed, said Mr Sarun Posayachinda, deputy director of the National Astronomical Research Institute.

Images of the fireball which were shot from car-equipped surveillance cameras at 8.45 am and were shortly afterward posted in the social media which attracted many comments wondering what it was.

After having observed the VDO clips which were posted by people in Kanchanaburi and Nonthaburi which are about 100 kilometres apart, Mr Sarun said meteorits often burn into fireballs at an attitude of between 80-120 kilometres from the surface of the Earth when they come into contact with the Earth’s atmosphere.

He explained that the sound of explosion was sonic boom as the meteorite travelled above sound speed.

He admitted he didn’t know whether any remains of the meteorite had landed because there are no reports yet about the finding of the meteorite. Or the meteorite could have just vapourised in the air, he said.

Probably filled with foreigners come to work illegally

A miracle indeed to witness this spectacle during daylight hours...
more of a miracle is that amongst all the video footage not one traffic accident was recorded !!

If you've come here for original and humorous comments you came to exactly the wrong place.

On every other thread you will have the great pleasure to read through approx' ten posts that say "mmm Thainess at it's best", and a generous helping of: "No Thai would ever do that" .

Yawn!

Wonder if anyone was reportedly killed by the meteorite?

In other news the Thai Space Agency announced a successful landing in Nakhon Nowhere of their highly advanced spacecraft. The spaceship was built only with Thai components and using rocket technology developed through Bang Fai the rocket programs as these rockets are superior to any imported rocket materials.

Asked at the press conference why the spaceship disintegrated when it entered the atmosphere, the director of the agency answered angrily if the reporter was Thai or not and thus ended the press conference.
There were no news given whether the two Thai serving privates, who happily joined the space program, survived or not. This did cause concern with some rear admiral as he needed his car washed by Monday.

I guess it doesn't matter what is put on Thai Visa, there is always going to be a large group of you who search in vain to put a negative spin about Thailand on any subject. I think the lot of you should get together and form a club. Something along the lines of The Leaving Thailand Club. Go home to the country you left that is so much better than Thailand and enjoy the rest of your miserable naysayer existence.

Massive fireball from space witnessed in Thailand, explosions heard
A massive fireball, believed to be a meteorite, has fallen on Thailand. Awestruck commuters witnessed the spectacle, describing a green and orange glow, as it took a nosedive toward Earth.
The event took place during the morning rush hour at about 8:45am local time in Bangkok, although the meteor did not make an audible sound as it struck the ground.
The size of the fireball is judged to be quite substantial, as residents of the Sisawat district in Kanchanaburi province, some 200km from the capital, also described seeing the meteorite. They say they also heard a thunderous explosion, according to Thai PBS.
Some even reported hearing two explosions, so a team of rescue workers was dispatched to where the crash site was assumed to be.
