Hotels and guest houses Kaosan Style in Sukhumvit - are there any?

Featured Replies

I'm going to stay in Sukhumvit, don't want to stay at Kaosan anymore because it's far the city center. Are there decent and cheap hotels at Sukhumvit like the ones at Kaosan? If so in which area exactly?

My budget is around 400 baht / day for a hotel.

Can't think of any in the 400B range but Suk11 is a nice backpacker's place on soi 11 at the top of the 'dog leg'

Is this a windup? 400 baht in S'vit

lol

man are you are gonna cop some khrap

No, none, That money will buy you a dorm bed in a hoStel-there are several. Check sites like hostelworld/hostelbookers or even booking.com-click lowest price/dorm beds. It should be obvious that no nite-time company would be allowed in. That suk11 long ago was some hoStel too, but its now mostly budgetrooms for mainland Chinese.

Sukh is by far not at all the centre of BKK-that just farangy imagination.

Do you mean dumps that are full of unsavoury pikeys? Perhaps you would like wifi and breakfast thrown in too?

The answer is "no" unless you go to the part of Sukhumvit Road that hits Cambodia.

Check out The Atlanta Hotel at the end of Soi 2 Sukhumvit. Old world charm, pool , gym, library, travel shop and a good restaurant. Sex tourists, Katamites , dope fiends are not welcome however.

But i doubt if the rooms there are 400 Baht for a night.

There is a place in soi 8 in the small sub soi across from kiwi bar that is 400 night. There is a place under the chidlom bts for around 400 or 500. Its next to the electricity authority

Nantra Soi 39...steps from the BTS (Prom Phong)......breakfast and wi-fi included....I usually pay about 600, but last fall, some backpackers told me they paid 540 at "travelsupermarket." Nice patio out front, you can BYO and socialize with other guests, after you realize how bad the bar scene has gotten on Sukhumvit.

Don't mind the old codgers on here

Dorm rooms for 350 baht/night at HiSukumvit Hostel by Soi Thonglor, the backpackers there are just normal people not 'pikeys' - http://www.hisukhumvit.com/rooms_rates.html

You can find your own room for 700 baht/night in guesthouses on Soi Nana

Or 650 at this hotel on Soi Ekkamai if you book a week in advance http://www.aravindabangkok.com/rates.php

if the reason is to be close to the BTS you can rent rooms for a month for less than 5000 baht so I am sure there are daily -weekly rates

But the other places people have mentioned are probably more fun than living in a Thai only area

Not allowed to link to it by forum rules but obviously just go any of the well known hotel discount websites

Search for Sukuhumvit, sort by price lowest first

Two for 400 baht ($11) come up, one for $12, two for $13, seven for $14...

So, The Zoo comes to Sukhumvit....wait, Suk is already a zoo. Hope they are going to set up barriers to separate the primates or will natural selection win out ? There are certainly parts of it where evolution seems questionable...whistling.gif
