September 12, 201510 yr Hi All, I started my LTF fund on 28 December 2012. I understand the term is 5 years. So 2012 counts as Year 1; 2013 year2; 2014 year 3; 2015 year 4; and 2016 year 5. So I can cash it the LTF any time after 1st Jan 2015. Right? Many thanks.
September 12, 201510 yr You are asking about 1 January 2016 right? 1 Jan 2013 = 2 year 1 Jan 2014 = 3 year 1 Jan 2015 = 4 year 1 Jan 2016 = 5 year minimum holding

September 12, 201510 yr I have no idea - just checked web site saying any partial year counts as full year so if that is true should be available on 1 January 2016.

From 1 Jan 2016 you'll be able to cash it in without any penalty To cash in you just go to your LTF provider and ask to sell the units. Simple process similar to buying just selling this time. It will settle / you get funds in about a week. If you hold UOB's LTFs and register with their online service they have a report that shows all LTF subscriptions in each tax year and they show how much you can sell by year Cheers Fletch
September 24, 201510 yr Assume you can you only cash-in penalty-free that portion which is over 5 years old, not the whole fund that you first started in Dec 2012 ? Is that right ?
