Warrant to be issued for another bombing suspect

BANGKOK: -- Police are to seek a court’s warrant for the arrest of another suspect who was believed to be a supporter of the movement responsible for the Erawan Shrine and Sathorn pier bombings, said Pol Lt-Gen Prawut Thavornsiri, spokesman of the National Police Office, on Thursday.

He said that police investigation had implicated the suspect, a man yet to be identified, of abetting the movement but it was yet to be confirmed whether the suspect was linked to a woman held in military custody or not.

Pol Lt-Gen Prawut said the Thai police had turned down the request of the Turkish embassy in Bangkok for the seized Turkish passports to be sent back to Turkey for examination because the passports were regarded as an evidence of the case under investigation.

However, he said it would be welcome if a Turkish team was sent her to examine the 251 fake Turkish passports found in the Pool Anant apartment in Nong Chok on August 29.

Meanwhile, Pol Gen Somyot Poompunmuang, the national police chief, said he had assigned Pol Lt-Gen Suchart Thiraswasdi, the police inspector-general, to lead a police team to Malaysia to interview three suspects – two Malaysians and a Pakistani – arrested by Malaysian police.

He believes the mission to Malaysia would help determine whether the trio was involved with the bombing movement or not.

This will be good.

There the ones, there not the ones, I never said that, It's a misunderstanding, Malaysia: Thais didn't come to see suspects, no cooperation.

A tragedy followed by a farce.

Why?. Is there more reward money on offer?

So what's the total number of suspects so far? It's getting on up there.

So what's the total number of suspects so far? It's getting on up there.

Depends if you count the suspects aka passport forgers and the suspects aka drug manufacturers and the suspects aka all foreigners.

Follow the time line, follow the suspect list, look at all the alleged countries supposedly involved, positive identification of suspects countries of origin (citizenship) seems lacking in many cases.

I am afraid that if they keep digging they will find that this was home grown and executed. they should have let it lay, now getting to complicated / convoluted to keep their "facts" straight.

Should be interesting to watch this develop!

Almost seems a paper variant of "spray and pray". Throw enough warrants out there and you may eventually hit someone.

Then again....

An arrest warrant for a supporter of the movement behind the bombings??? What movement?

the number of arrest warrents requested and what have been issued may differ in numbers, but i bet the paperwork is massive

and what about those with no name as there seems to be mass confusion with all the fakes found to date.

Does Thai have a ( john doe ) for example, ''Dang'' might cover a lot of unknowns. I have no knowledge of any police department other than Thailand who operate and conduct themselves on a personal and / or job preformance in the unique Thai way.that we see on a daley basis. (thank the gods for that)

eeny meeny miny mo....

But srsly, the generalissimo is quite correct when he states that it is not an international issue. (If you don't include China, Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia... anyone else I forgot?)
