Wow finally, justice is too slow in Thailand especially when rich people are involved. Its good that the guy finally has to go to jail. I always thought it was a farce when he did not have to go to jail. Finally some justice.

This is Thailand and it's the way it works here. Let the young guy alone and let him live his life. He has to have that on his conscience forever.

In the United States, the judge called it "affluenza." He reasoned the teenager had grown up in such a super-wealthy family that he had never learned the law applied to him as well as to other people. Of course, the judge saw to it that the law didn't apply to him. I think that was one of the states where judges are elected. The Supreme Court has ruled that elected judges do not have to recuse themselves from cases involving large campaign contributors. And some people say we are a nation of laws. ROFLMAO!

This court ruling has been orchestrated as a PR exercise, to save the justice system's face (once again).

I also think that his jail time will not be so bitter.

The grace of the happy birth, child of wealthy and well connected parents will spread his protective hand over him.

- Daily fresh food delivered as desired.

His parents, businessman Kan-anek and former beauty queen Savinee, were not present for the verdict.

Kanpitak was convicted on all counts for killing and injuring others.

According to witnesses, Kanpitak quarrelled with a bus driver and hit him with a rock on July 4, 2007.

The bus conductor and passengers who had to get off the bus due to the quarrel surrounded Kanpitak's car and loudly complained.

Kanpitak's younger sister was in the car and broke into tears, resulting in Kanpitak being thrown into a fit of rage.

He said he was lovesick at that time and had not seen his doctor at a psychiatric hospital for more than one month.

Rage blamed on mental health

The Court of Appeals handed him a suspended jail term in 2013 on the grounds he committed the crimes because of his mental-health problems.

The leniency was also based on the fact that his family provided compensation to the victims.

The mother of the bus conductor received more than |Bt2 million. But public prosecutors and a plaintiff petitioned the Supreme Court.

In jailing Kanpitak, the court said despite his mental-health problems he deserved to serve a jail term based on his age, behaviour at the time, and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Fare collector Somjit Klaewkla stood by Sathaporn's account. "Our bus didn't do anything. There was no brushing accident," she said.

She said some passengers pointed their fingers at Kanpitak and used their camera phones to photograph his face after they were asked to get off the bus.

When a bus is involved in an accident, passengers have to get off and wait for a new bus to come.

"I believe the man got angry and therefore swerved his car into where we were standing," Somjit said. She said she had sustained only minor injuries.

Another survivor, Ratchanee Jiew, 58, also said the bus did not brush against any vehicle.

Sathaporn also told police that a man, who identified himself as the father of the car's driver, threatened to harm his wife and children.

"He said he knew many senior police and military officers. The threat was made in front of police officers. I am scared," Sathaporn said.

Doesn't sound like an accident to me. His father was found in a hotel room with Ya Ice, you asked where his son might have got the drugs.
