NLA members join in annual seminar to discuss future work strategies

BANGKOK, 20 September 2015 (NNT) - Members of the National Legislative Assembly have gathered for the annual seminar to discuss work strategies and plans to disseminate information to the public.

At the 2015 NLA seminar, which took place at Dusit Thani Hotel in Chon Buri province, Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak was a guest speaker and delivered a speech on Thailand’s economics and politics.

Mr. Somkid said that the current government is giving priority to the grassroots economy, particularly SME operators and the agricultural sector which have been struggling with signs of weakness.

He stated that the government’s focus must be more than simply a higher GDP growth rate because effective reform means the general public must have enough to get by.

NLA President Pornpetch Wichitcholchai added that the legislature has enacted 119 laws during the past year and will continue to consider more laws essential for the administration of the country.

Other activities at the annual gathering were a seminar to review all the works of the NLA after one year in office, and to plan their future roles, as well as a speech by Deputy Prime Minister Wissany Krea-ngam on the topic of “the Government’s Road Map and the NCPO”.
