Lite Beer
Phuket police puzzled by death of Nong Kai construction worker Eakkapop Thongtub PHUKET: Tha Chadchai Police at 8.30pm last night (Sepember 19) were alerted that a Thai construction worker had been found dead at a worker's camp in Mai Khao. Police arrived to the scene – a worker's camp associated with the Sino-Thai company located behind the Meteorological Center in Mai Khao's Moo 1 locale – where they met 36-year-old Amorn Srinara who claimed to have discovered the body of his colleague that evening.Mr Amorn brought police to the body belonging to a large-frame Thai man lying on his back on a bed in a room inside workers' quarters. The deceased was named as Mr Nikorn Wongjumpa, 38, of Nong Kai's Photak district.Police noted what appeared to be a wound on the man's head, still dripping with blood.Rescue workers proceeded to collect the body, which was then transported to Thalang Hospital for a full postmortem examination.Mr Amorn told investigators that when he had left for work that morning, Mr Nikorn was in his room by himself.Mr Amorn said he became worried when Mr Nikorn didn't show up for work all day, and then upon finishing work went to check on him at his room, which was locked from the inside, with no one responding to their knocks and calls.Mr Amorn said he and colleagues then forced the door open, and that's when they discovered the corpse, and imediately notified police. The duty officer, Pol Lt Col Sarut Bhutnongsaeng declined to speculate at this point, but has not ruled out homicide or suicide."Pending the results of the medical examination, we will continue our investigation," Lt Col Sarut said.Source: http://www.thephuketnews.com/phuket-police-puzzled-by-death-of-nong-kai-construction-worker-54181.php -- Phuket News 2-15-09-
rethaier
It is unlike the police to not speculate. Seems to me there are three options. Natural causes, homicide and suicide. Has he ruled out the first one?

There should be a line added in the middle of those two. "...dripping with blood. After a full forensic examination of the scene. Rescue workers..." Emster23
BIB always seem to be puzzled when forced to do real police work and investigation. "Hey, I didn't sign up for this. I majored in brown envelopes at academy".

NamKangMan
The RTP are 'puzzled' by anything other than Baht notes in their hands ! Yes, "baht notes" seem to be the final piece in the "puzzle" for many cases here.
