Vaccinations for babies

Probably BKK-CM Hospital- I'd give them a call first as their vaccine stock sometimes runs out (I'm still waiting for them to get the top-end version of DPT back in- everyone is currently out of the formula that generally leaves the child without a slight fever after it's administered, though they have the standard version).

Thank you very much

I wonder how many more posts this thread can handle until the anti-vaccination conspiracy folks come out with the typical charlatanism and quackcksalvery?

Tony, if you do end up going to BKK-CM, I'd recommend telling them you'd like a female doctor- they've got an older man who's a knowledgable doctor, but he's not quite as kid-friendly as the younger female docs they've got there- my daughter has been there twice for immunizations so far, and our second experience was a bit calmer than the first (though still a somewhat of a scream-fest;)).

everywhere (every hospital and clinic that treats children) does child immunizations but often they run out of the name brands which everyone wants. generics are not very good. even government hospitals use the name brands from GSK, Pfizer, Sanofi Aventis, Novartis, etc.

Some vaccines arent available in Thailand. For instance, we could not find Infanrex Hexa for our boys second dose. First was given in North America. We got it done a month late in Singapore.

Also, +1 on Dr Morgan and child vaccinations. Great communication.

Cheers for that, i checked the website and they seem to be using the non-generic vaccines

Vaccine center at bottom (river end) of Chang Klan.

Even the Japanese found autism continued to rise after they banned the MMR... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/1808316.stm

Individual jabs vs multi-jab

You'd hope the pharma industry has shaped up since those days from the 60's to 1980's when the 100 million Americans were injected with contaminated polio vaccine, with a cancer inducing virus (SV40).

Better regulation these days of course whistling.gif

We always use ram for my 2 and am very happy with the service

For example, last Sunday we went there for vaccinations. The doctor noticed a small drop in weight over a 2-month period for my older one. She went through what can cause a drop in weightfor children of this age. The list was quite long and included thyroid, parasites and cancer. She said we'll need to test her blood if you want to check them all. We said yes. They took her blood 30 minutes later and 2 hours later, after lunch, we're sitting with the doctor going through the results. When there's a possible threat to your child's well-being, it feels absolutely fantastic as a parent to know you can get this service. It cost a few thousand baht but the cost wasn't important. Not knowing and waiting for an appointment is painful.

I also recommend the Health Care Medical Clinic for children. The doctor there is a young woman who speaks English perfectly and is very good with kids and adults. I thought the comment about the older doctor at Bangkok Hospital pediatrics was hilarious. We had a pretty off-putting experience with him when trying to vaccinate my 4 year old. He asked my husband to hold him down and then a full five minutes later managed to get everything together to jab him. Poor kid, that's 5 minutes of unnecessary anticipation where he was very vocal about his fears.
