PHUKET: -- A Myanmar national was arrested yesterday after being tracked down in Kathu for allegedly stealing a mobile phone from a Russian tourist.

Dmithy Surkov, 32, reported that his phone was stolen from Patong Beach on September 12, said Phuket Tourist Police Chief Urumporn Koondejsumrit.

“We tracked down the phone on September 19, when we were able to see that someone was using it in the Kathu area,” Maj Urumporn said.

After pin pointing the location to a construction site in the area, police moved in to arrest Naing Win, 28, who was holding the stolen Asus Z00D smartphone.

“Mr Surkov confirmed that the phone was his. However, Mr Naing denied stealing it. He said he had received it from a friend,” Maj Urumporn said.

Most not be a lot of big news stories today if this is the best they can come up with.

None of my friends give me phones ,maybe i need new friends

Maybe he is a scape goat ? We will never find out.

Just close the borders. Too many evil people entering Thailand.

My house was burgled and I was able to track the stuff down using Prey Project on my stolen tablet.. Android devices include locate my phone by default but it needs to be turned on. Highly recommended.
