Hi there! Does any one have nny recommendations to visit if one were to want to spend a day with the nature in the Hatyai/Songkhla or somewhere nearby? Can drive 1-2 hours.

Purpose: older generation who wants to feel relaxed disconnected from society with preference for any mountains/hilly areas, waterfalls, rivers, old style temples and have a nice picknick or drive sightseeing the environment.

Have you been to Na Chang waterfall ?

The first couple of pools are full of day trippers, and you can only take a picnic in the first.

The most enjoyable morning I spent with nature I had was out in Thale Noi, take a boat at daybreak - most relaxing watching the flowers and birds.

We also enjoyed the morning boat ride amongst the lotus flowers at Thale Noi.

A trip to the communist tunnels, Piyamit Village 5, in the Khao Nam Khang National Park also makes a nice day out, there are several waterfalls to visit in the park too.

Yes agree with Stocky.... Thale Noi lake and a morning longtail boat ride is a wonderful experience.... Usually lots of birds and lotus flowers blooming in the mornings! (They close by about noon!)

(January to April usually best time for flowers and birds!)

But other times usually not a disappointment... I've done it several times...

About and hour to hour and a half north of Hat Yai~ ! There are a few decent restaurants in Thale Noi village too! thumbsup.gif
