No point spending money trying to sue a dead donkey. I doubt a lawyer would take it on for normal class action payment terms if they have read the runes.

Email sent, box packed up. Any further bills I receive will be returned to sender. Done

Same here phoned them stating I no longer require their services a couple of months back, they asked me to send the box to Bangkok for a 1000 baht refund I don't think so I will keep it for that saves me the hassle.

The service is still running now,all bills are returned to sender.

Got a letter yesterday from them in thai language. My wife informed me it is an apology and how they have recently updated their accounts etc. Basically they still want this mystery 10,000 baht and also there was an attached breakdown of the bills which totalled 29,000 baht. To top it all off the final thing in the envelope was the 961 baht bill for the last month, the month of which my service has been cut!

Returned letter with all its contents.

^I emailed CTH informing we didn't agree with their bill, how much we thought we owed (one month and x days of a month they cut off the service), that we were willing to pay the amount we consider due if they confirmed in writing that they'd cancel their bills, turn back on our service and confirm acceptance of the amount we considered due; if they didn't confirm within 7 days then we'd confirm the Agreement with Cth terminated by Cth by cutting our service.

6 days passed and they emailed asking for a phone number to call. They didn't call.

7th day I emailed cancellation/termination.

A week later they send an email IN THAI which apparently asked for copy of my wife's ID card, that we return their equipment and we send them a letter; we took no action.

Equipment is in cupboard for them if they wish to collect it.

For those of us still with a CTH service come next May, let's only hope that switching to BEIN (or whomever will be screening live EPL games here on their behalf under the new 3-year deal) during the close season won't, in the event, necessitate a leap from the frying pan into the fire!

Check the BKK Post Business section today for an article on more of CTH's shenanigans.

Think I'm allowed to post the headline to aid people's search aren't I?

"CTH pulls the plug on local cable TV operators"

I too have had CTH billing problems.

Middle of last year they suddenly added an installation charge from 3 years ago (ironic anyway since I installed it myself with my own dish as I live in a condo where they don't allow dishes!)

I'm in a cyclical catch 22 with them now - I have service, they cut me off (outstanding installation charge), I call/email them (sometimes take an hour to get through on the phone - emails are usually unanswered), send them a copy proving I paid for installation, they reconnect me, I pay my monthly bill and notice I still have Bt6000 owing, I contact them to ask them to remove the extra charge, nothing happens, go back to the start of the process......

this has happened 4 or 5 time now.... infuriating.

I'm sure they'll see a mass exodus at the end of the current premier league season.

I have had to go back several times to the local office after being 'cut off for not paying my bill'. The issue was supposed to be sorted in September but I was cut off in December despite not receiving a bill (I wrongly assumed that CTH had accepted that the account was in credit). It is becoming tiresome, I am lucky in that I have most if not all of my receipts (I always pay my bills, even when they haven't arrived I've been to 7/11 or the bank to pay them).

Subscribers are being persecuted by CTH because of the CTH's incompetence in registering payments. If you don't keep your receipts then I can see that you are likely to be screwed and so it is probably best to go elsewhere. You can only P your customers off so many times before they go elsewhere.

Come May, they're all going elsewhere anyway.

I wonder. If I sent them an email offering to pay for the last 18 months of free unbilled service would they respond to that do you think?

Even if I wanted to there's not a cat in hell's chance I will now do so, knowing that they would probably then bill me for all kinds of trumped up charges plus the first year I paid plus all the installation which I also paid. Pretty sure they never even got those revenues I did pay into their corporate coffers as local rumour has it they canned the local installer very early on but forgot to ask for the records.

The most inept corporate entity I have ever come accross. Scuddamore's contract-signing glowing praise for this 'experienced broadcaster' still stands as testament to the lying toe-rag's numpty standing.

Despite all the bollux I will be surprised if we get the same depth of coverage with up to 5 channels showing live games and a week load of repeats when Bein comes along. No doubt we will find out within a few days of the start of next season.

I'm curious if anyone has an update on this topic?

Our story is, we signed up for CTH three years ago and paid the first two years up front. After the first two years had finished, they just cut us off without a word. I called them and said I'd like to continue the service and they immediately reinstated us saying they would begin to bill us monthly. After that NOTHING... we haven't received a single bill despite having had service for the past 12/13 months. Now I don't want it because they no longer have Premier League football (who'd want it for anything else?). I've today sent them an email to the address posted above, but it's bounced right back as that mailbox is full.

Does anyone know what's become of this firm?

BTW @Bredbury Blue ... do I know you from Bluemoon?

They are still broadcasting. I haven't paid anything (nor been asked to) since paying for installation and a one year contract this time three years ago.

Personally I would not bother communicating with them (for reasons I set out in a posting above). Watch as long as you want to until they stop broadcasting - still has Sky News if you are Brit, plus Channel News Asia which is the only decent SE Asian news outfit around; plus a few decent US drama series gems a la 'The Americans' plus other movies you might not be getting if you don't have an appropriate True Visions package in addition to the football. Chuck the kit away when you or they have finished. Donate any money you would have paid them to charity in three years time (highly unlikely that any official receiver of the business would be chasing you after that timescale).

If you are not a risk taker then just bin the kit now.

H,  Did you end  up getting your  refund from CTH?  It's bbeen 2 months for us nothing yet , thank you

Who are CTH  ?

When a company is bust, customers are the second last to be paid out* = forget it!

To borrow a phrase used by the Chairman of Ryan Air to a retired old lady when grabbing the phone from his customer service person "hey lady, what part of 'no refunds' do you not understand?" [He was referring to a flight cost refund - they aren't bust of course]

*Tax authorities 1st, Government 2nd, secured lender banks third. [Unsecured suppliers last]. Thailand broadly follows a UK model of business insolvency as best I remember.

I never did and we never will.  As soon as you send the box back they cut all communication.

Think they've gone now anyway

Carms, i think your attention should be on more important things than a couple of thousand baht, such as when are we going to win our next game

I didn't get a refund because I didn't get round to returning the box, haha.

I wouldn't have held my breath anyway.

Is their operating licence now lost in any event in practice as a result of them going bust a couple of months ago?
