Toyota Auto start/stop...

Featured Replies

I know, read the manual or ask the dealer... will eventually do both. But is there any way to make the auto start/stop engine feature OFF by default instead of having to toggle it everytime a new trip is started? Vehicles in question are this year's Camry hybrid and Revo 4x4.

I have the same issue with my car (BMW). The stop start is a pain and there is no way to set it to 'off' all the time.

However, I have read on some forums that the cars can be 'coded'... i.e. the electronics of your vehicle could be coded so that the Autostop/start feature is set to 'off' by default (along with many other options which could also be coded).

My guess is that Toyota can be 'coded' much in the same way as BMW's... its worth digging into some Toyota forums to find out.

If you were to go that route, there could be warranty issues though...
