welshboy454 Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 The following Link shows the water level and more critically the usable water level in each Dam. 14% usable water in the North at the start of the dry season seems a big problem. http://www.thaiwater.net/DATA/REPORT/php/rid_dam_1.php?lang=en
farmerjo Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 A lot of these dams are also hydropower plants.Water in,water out to create electricity. Where the water goes i have no idea but you cannot have power and full dams.
welshboy454 Posted October 20, 2015 Author Posted October 20, 2015 The Hydro Electric Dams data is here http://www.thaiwater.net/DATA/REPORT/php/egat_dam_1.php?lang=en
welshboy454 Posted October 21, 2015 Author Posted October 21, 2015 Todays data report Critically low level reservoir (% of usable) : Mae Kuang(6%),Bhumibol(8%),Ubonrat(9%),Srinakarin (15%),Kiew Lom(15%),Mae Ngud(17%)
farmerjo Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 This not only creates problems here but Laos as well. They sell thailand hydro power and thailand sells them back what it doesn't use. For the last two years i know of it has forced some industries in Laos to scale back or shutdown for up to a month. They will expect more this year. And don't be surprised if there's a lot of blackouts in thailand later on.
