need some ADVICE concerning Visa

Featured Replies

Hello everybody,

First of all I am married to thai citizen.

havent had the funds after marriage to get on a non immigrant visa,( because we invested in some real estate)

Now I am on a visa on arrival, which I extended now for the 3rd time. (valid until the 4th november 2015)

Now, the immigration office in bangkok gives me the stamps which says;

extension of stay permitted up to 4th nov.

holder must leave the kindom within the date specified herein...

notice;

to keep your stay permit re-entry permit must be made before leaving thailand.

notification of residence must be made every 90 days.

well, what does that mean to get these stamps on a visa on arrival 30 days!?

The immigration is well aware that i am legally married in Thailand, they know my address of residence in thailand

BUT as i was informed i can't directly skip from visa on arrival to non immigrant visa?!

Can someone wise shed some light onto my confusion???

ps; is going to penang getting the non immigrant visa an option eventhough the funds are not fully granted yet?

thank you very much in advance!!

I do not understand if you have a 30 day visa exempt entry, or from a country that gets a visa on arrival, there is a difference. which somehow you have extended.

You can go to Savanakhet in laos and obtain a multi entry non immigrant 'O' visa as you are married to a Thai citizen, no financial proof is required, do a search on here for Savanakhet

You most certainly did not extend a "visa on arrival " three times!

Best you scan and post pictures of what is in the passport because your post does not make sense.

excuse me, I extend it for the second time only.

I flew out of the kindom once in between.

Laos seems to be the destination to go then!

Thank you guys very much for your help!

very appreciated!

Why don't people who travel to Thailand know the difference between a Visa on arrival,a Visa exemption and an actual Visa.

It's absolutely mind numbing the number of times these topics get played out over and over again.

Where's the Pinned Thread ?

What nationality are you?

Assuming you entered with visa exempt entry and not visa on arrival....

  • If you are married you can get a 60 day extension to extend the stay expiring on Nov 4th but only if you haven't had a 60 day extension already. No financial information needed.
  • You could convert a visa exempt entry to a non immigrant entry but you would need to have 400k in a Thai bank on the day you apply. You can't do that because you need at least 15 days left of your current stay which you don't have because it expires on Nov 4th. If you get another 60 day stay you would be able to convert.
  • If you can't get another extension then you could get a non 'O' visa from Savannakhet, Laos without any financial proof.
  • You could get a single entry non 'O' valid and extended that by 1 year OR a multiple entry non 'O' that is valid for 1 year.

Swiss citizens are not eligible for "visas on arrival" so I presume you have a "visa exempt entry" ?

When you flew in from Japan you were given 30 days and you have since extended that at immigration for 30 days?
