If you really want to appreciate a tint and what you lose, take out two cars at dusk or later- one with and one without in quick succession, the tint first and then the untinted....you'll never tint again.

Thats like saying ride your motorbike at night with and without sunglasses.

There's not many people wear sunglasses at night unless your from American Chopper.

Actually it is and that's a really good example, wear sunglasses in a car at night without and then take off the sunglasses and see the difference it makes and then understand why you don't wear sunglasses at night while driving either, the big dif being you can take them off whereas you can't take off the window tint, especially the front windshield.

I have just bought a new Honda Jazz and had 40% tint for the windscreen and 60% for all other windows. This has been perfect for day and night driving. Absolutely no problems at all.

...not that you could see, anyway........

I take offence to a remark like this. You do not actually know me!! I stated what I had for tinting on my car, as an honest reply to the original query, and with perfect 20/20 vision, I do not have any problems. It is a shame when a good forum like this can resort to stupid personal comments.

Actually, it's pretty "clear" from your comments that you are unaware of the effect that tinted windows have on your vision....what do you think those percentage figures refer to? Whether you have 20/20 or not has no bearing on the effects of tinting. This refers to being able to see objects (letters) "normally" visible at 20 feet......if you put a film of tint over your line of vision, you are obviously reducing the information received by the eye and therefore no longer 20/20. you are now seeing what can "normally" be seen through tint, which is less than 20/20.

20% is fine and no problem at night

A sensible answer, much appreciated, it seems there are other forms of Pratt other than window tint.

My windows are tinted and like worrab I have no issue seeing out either day or night.

What sort of letters do I need to see at 20 feet ?

So if you don't even know what 20/20 refers to? how can you make any judgements on your vision when impaired by tints? You simply are unaware of any vision problems you have.....it doesn't mean they're not there just because you can't see them....
