Does anyone have View TV Abroad?

Featured Replies

I've subscribed to View TV Abroad and have the 'In a Box' version which should mean that I'm able to watch 7 days worth of catch up UK & USA TV plus films including all Sky Movie channels as well as Sky Sports channels. This would be money well spent if only it worked properly.

I'm having persistent problems with very bad buffering, programs/films cutting out part way through, or it just not working at all. Initially this seemed to be linked to problems with my internet, but after contacting my internet provider (True) I've been regularly monitoring with speed tests and I'm continuing to have the same problems even though my download speeds are consistently high.

I'm wondering if anyone else here has this service and if you're having problems or not?

Don't use the service, but...

this is as to be expected when trying to 'stream' anything through an Internet International Gateway (IIG) with already high 'contention' (from other local users) where the IIG doesn't directly 'peer' with your media provider. You're bound to have issues even at the best of times.

And these are not the best of times. Thailand's Internet is currently suffering issues and now is not the time to be expecting 'consistency'.

Speed and Ping rates to your ISP will be different from the Speed and Ping rates of your media service provider, especially through an IIG.

According to the support website for your media service, the simple service is a plain VPN Provider connecting with UK & USA servers that gives the subscriber/user an Internet presence in one of those countries.

The ...inabox affilated service offers a IPTV Set Top Box loaded with software to view 27, 54 or 150 UK-distributed channels (based on subscription).

Another ISP, or even the same ISP from another location, may offer you a better connection to your media service.
