October 26, 201510 yr Hi, I was hoping some of you guys may have some idea about how to transport a 200cc bike upto CM from BKK. The bike is not in my name (yet, as current owner in CM meeting me for transfer name), so the post office and train are not an option (they require greenbook in owners name!).. Anyone know a company that transport bikes, or a moving company that would accept a bike together with some other stuff they might have to deliver anyways.. I have looked around here and in google, but cant seem to find anything.. Thanx,
October 26, 201510 yr The post office requires a green book.. doesnt matter whose name its in.. I know of transport companies but its about 4500 from memory.. V post office about 2000.. Used PO for bikes all around Thailand.. maybe 7 or 8 times. Never had a problem.
October 26, 201510 yr Author Actually just got copy of owner passport, so postoffice ok, but now they tel me 7 days transport !!! Crazy. I need like 1 days (ovenight perfect.)
October 26, 201510 yr Can also send by train, need an empty tank though from memory. Have also used post, both worked out well.
October 26, 201510 yr Author yes, i think train perfect now that i have owner passport copy that should work.. Thank you all ;-)
October 26, 201510 yr If it's a scooter, not too big, you can send it with a bus. That's the easiest and fastest way.

October 26, 201510 yr I have shipped via post (slow, 2+ weeks from Khao Lak to CM) and via train (you must accompany bike). Neither time did I have the Green Book in my name. In fact, shipping on the train I did not even have the Green Book, just a copy of it. When I shipped via train from Chiang Mai to Udon my bike did not have an empty tank. FYI.
October 27, 201510 yr They say you're suppose to accompany the bike on the train, but I know people who go to put a bike on the train in Bangkok and then don't use their train ticket. They get a good night's sleep in Bangkok and fly up to Chiang Mai the next day to meet their bike at the train station.

Actually when I shipped my Phantom from Nakhon Si Thammarat to BKK I found that the bike would not fit on the train at NST and I had to hire a man and a pickup to take me to Thung Song junction, There they loaded the bike (4 guys) into the baggage car of the BKK train. I had 2 or 3 hours to wait and the next train to BKK came in. That was the passenger train for me and my bike went off before me in the other train. I had thought that would be the last I saw of it but when my train arrived in the morning an SRT guy spotted me, asked me if it was my bike, took my ticket and started to walk away. I asked him how I was supposed to get my bike to the road and he told me, just ride it down the platform, it will be OK. It was. I still had some gas in the tank to get me to a friends place where I had a shower, a second breakfast (the first was on the train and not too bad) then rode 400 km home.
