I had a snake for lunch today!

Featured Replies

I was cooking a home made pizza for lunch today and had a unexpected visitor that slithered across the counter top and finally curled up behind the microwave - a 1.5 meter rat snake!. The mutts were having a fit and I figured by the time the I put them out the snake would manage to go to parts unknown (the last one went behind the heavy unmovable china cabinet) so I moved the microwave and grabbed it. I fully expected to get bitten but it was docile and coiled itself around my arm. I thought about taking a selfie but the dogs were giving me fits so I took it and let it go in the corn field next door. I had a hell of a time getting it uncoiled from my arm. That's the second in the house this year.

If I was Thai I might have had another topping for my pizza!

Good story. Good also that you let it go. thumbsup.gif

They must be just coming out.

One in the outside kitchen yesterday and one in the yard this afternoon.

This was in the back of the fridge

Biggest scare I had was a huge red tailed rat snake in the house. Until I later had a look in the book, I did not know what it was.

i think the last one we had was a rat snake as it moved so fast[3weeks ago] but over 2mtrs.

oh and dont i just love S-AKE AND KIDNEY PIE.

My wife watched me walk by a cobra curled up ready to strike. She thought it was better not to say anything, I didn't see it. She had the son in law come kill it, which I was most annoyed about.
