Crocodile on the loose in Bangkok village, almost eats soi dogs

BANGKOK:-- A woman in Bangkok woke up this morning to find a local soi dog trying to protect her two puppies from a crocodile.

Sawang Napawan, 53, who lives in Soi 44 on Seri Thai road, initially thought "Potato", the stray dog she feeds, was barking at a thief, but when she went to investigate, Sawang found out it was a full-grown freaking crocodile.

Yes, this is just another case of a wild animal miraculously appearing in the middle of Bangkok and nobody knows where it came from. But in this case it wasn’t something cute and cuddly, it was a crocodile.

This could form the basis for a sequel to Crocodile 1 and 2 movies, or how about Ninja Crocodiles, about crocodiles who disguise themselves as wallets, before launching a lethal attack....

Saturday mornings seem to bring out the humor impaired.

What size feet does it have, i'm looking for some new shoes.

Sounds like the croc went hungry. What a pity!

Good opportunity to institute an innovative dog control program.

May I have this crocodile?

I like he will eats my neighbors too.

You didn't need to clarify your mental condition to us, we were well aware of it.coffee1.gif

Can I borrow it for a few hours? I'd love to take it with me for my morning walks, I'll make sure it has its fill of soi dogs.

How does a crocodile 'almost eat a soi dog'? It implies being partly eaten.

Perhaps 'soi dogs in danger of being attacked by a crocodile' would have been a better headline, not as attention grabbing though.

"It may be a released pet." You don't say!

Crocodiles (wild ones) were extirpated from Thailand (except perhaps a waterway in Pang Sida National Park) decades ago. All latest sightings are releases (probably estuarine / Siamese crocodile species-hybrids) including the sightings near Pa Kluay Mai in Khao Yai.

Probably preferred hunger to eating a Mangy Soi Dog

Briggsy, Since you seem knowledgeable in this area, what about the crocs in Kaeng Kachan

Nat Forest? I heard they were wild Siamese. You think releases or .... ?

Can I borrow a real croc for my subdivision? Please, please, please. Hell, even one of Texas/Louisiana gators would do just fine, although they only tend to eat people in the water. Dawgs are fair game, yea!

Yes we can always rely on you to avoid seeing any humour in the situation.
