PATTAYA: -- Although the recent dispute between rescue volunteers and an off-duty Pattaya Police Sergeant was amicably resolved, the Pattaya Police Chief is not so forgiving and sent the officer to a Prison on a remote Island close to Pattaya which will be followed by a transfer to Police Headquarters in Chonburi City.

We spoke with Police Colonel Sukthat on Monday and he confirmed that Police Sergeant Tonatan will be placed in a prison located at Koh Si Chang, an Island located off the coast of Sriracha District, for a period of 3 days. The Sergeant will then be assigned to a desk job at Chonburi Provincial Police Headquarters for a period of 30 days.

Yep, this Serpico wannabe was exiled like Napoleon, to Elba, a remote island not far from Pattaya, with a case of beer and few cartons of cigarettes

and a stack of pornography material, oh yeah, and a box of tissues,

What a good joke to start the day with...

Koh Sichang is not by any stretch of the imagination a "remote island". There is a ferry approximately every hour and it takes about one hour to reach there. It boasts a considerable permanent population, hundreds of tourists visit every day and there is a sizeable petrochemical installation.

I would add it has no prison!

Wow, now THAT is an inactive post!

Need to send more bent coppers there, though I suppose it would be overcrowded in no time.

Yes, TiT

Should have been fired... or would that mean they would have to refund the money he paid for his job and rank...gigglem.gif

There is a no refund policy in operation.

Thailand is not called the land of deterrent for nothing. The sentences here can be quite harsh, when it comes to their own. 3 days is massive. How is this man going to be able to cope? Do you think they will also provide a staff psychiatrist?

Well 3 days is better than 0 days. And now his salary probably went down from 50k to 10k , no corruption money behind the office desk.

Maybe a career change...

Gong Yifei, 24, is the only man to be found at Beijing's Luolan Pole Dancing Club. But that is not the only unusual thing about him.

Before becoming a regular at the pole-dancing training club, he had been a squad leader in the armed police force.

I am sure he would be very popular down in Boyz Town. giggle.gif

Is this story for real ?

You are entering a dimension of sight and sound, you are in ...the

Thwailight Zone.

I always tell people, who have never been here before, that this place is NOT a foreign country. It is a distant planet. Planet Thailandia. Edited by spidermike007

I hear the place is a regular Alcatraz.

The reference is lost in Pattaya, Alcatraz is a popular ladyboy show or a nightclub in Pattaya parts.
