Warranty & Camera Shop

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

am thinking of buying a Sony A100 - prices look sameish as UK and it'll save me lugging it to Thailand (staying long term).

- Somebody mentioned that warranty may not be international - correct?

- Can't seem to find the camera on fotofile's website and they haven't responded to my e-mails. Anyone been to www.thecameracity.com? Do the shops in general let you try before you buy?

Thanks in advance for any help on this!

I cannot comment on Sony, but I bought a Canon 10D from Fotofile and it came with a full warranty, which I registered on the Canon site.

I was able to take some shots around the shop before buying and there was no pressure to do the deal quickly.

The advantage of the digital is you can see the results of test shots immediately. :o

Thanks. Fotofile have written back to say they don't sell the camera. Looks like camera city it is then! Hope they're reliable!
