Apologies if this is the wrong forum for this question.

A few months ago I inherited a sickly looking anonymous plant. I gave it some fertilizer and water it daily. Recently it has been sprouting new leaves and overnight a flower popped up. Does anyone know what this plant is? Is it only ornamental or does it bear fruit? Does it require any special care?

I believe it is ดอกชบา = daawk chaba = hibiscus
