A friend of mine has fallen for a lady who claims to have spent 9 years working as a nurse in the Royal Thai Navy, first in Satahip and then in Bangkok. She claims she was earning 30,000 per month. Does anyone know if this is possible for a nurse in the Navy?

She barely speaks any English. What level of English proficiency could one expect from a person who has spent 9 years in the Navy?

She is now working in a bar in Pattaya. Obviously I have my doubts she was ever in the Navy, hence my questions.

Is it any of your business?

Yes, we are close friends and searching for answers together. We even found this girl when we were out together.

I knew a senior nurse who took home 28k from a public hospital job along with some quite nice other benefits.

Pattaya bar girl!? Massive red flag

Next time you meet up with her take along a couple of flags, maybe she will give you all the right signals.

Personally I see only red flags.

I'm only interested in answers to the 2 questions in the OP, thanks!

There are quite a few green flags too, which I shan't discuss here.

Obviously people who don't know more will jump to that conclusion. My friend has been visiting Pattaya for more than 15 years, so he knows a thing or two about bargirls and is well aware of all the games they play... and has never married, or supported any. I'm not new here either.

Hence the investigation....

Just because its suspicious circumstances doesn't necessarily mean its a lie, and if it was it's a pretty elaborate one.

Working as a nurse is not an easy job, so I could quite understand why someone would want to hit easy street for a while and have some fun.

It safe to assume a lot of the information you are getting from ANY bar girl is false, contrived, exaggerated, and designed with your ears in mind. They know what we want to hear. They are well educated. They were civilians, working in a factory until last month. They have only been working one week. They have never been with a fareng before. They think we are very handsome. They like pompuey man. And on and on and on.

Yes, nursing is not an easy job, and that's why she claimed she left i.e. she'd had enough.

She's not your average looking bargirl. She's a hostess and making money would be/is easy for her in the bar industry. A single guy who has been visiting here for 15 years doesn't fall for any old girl.

I knew a nurse who worked for the British Royal Navy (for more than 9 years) and she couldn't speak Thai; no requirement for her to do so.......................tongue.png

On a serious note, after 9 years of service, through their promotional system, I don't see why it shouldn't be possible. That said, maybe she is exaggerating her monthly wage a little.

Does her age match up with her alleged service time?

I would have thought that 9 years in the "forces" would leave a most obvious mark on any individual, in behaviour, attitude, and personal appearance. 9 years is also a really long time to decide something is "hard work". I would have thought if that was genuine, she would never have lasted 9 years. As for the salary, that doesnt seem too far off depending on "rank" achieved after 9 years ?

on the surface, without more details, I would say elaborate fictional "history" contrived from another girl or even a magazine article.

Yes, the timeline is spot on.

I would say the salary is to high. Royal Thai Navy are based at Sattahip. The English thing is fine as Thailand are only in front of Cambodia and Mongolia in Asia.

Bet she has seen the Odd torpedo ,whistling.gif and gone down on a few subs

No doubt about that. She had a very good education.

Any woman that spent that long in the forces would probably have a few masculine traits also

LOL. So I know if she's been in the navy by determining if she has "a few masculine traits"?

This lady is 100% woman, more than most bargirls I've ever seen.
