  • Class-leading safety features help Ford Ranger raise the bar on safety in the pickup segment by leveraging Ford's global engineering resources and advanced safety technologies

Kuala lumpur, Malaysia, Nov. 13, 2015 – The class-defining new Ford Ranger has received the highest safety rating among all pickup trucks being tested by the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP) with the highest evaluation of 15.45/16 points.

“Achieving 5-star ASEAN-NCAP is an important milestone in the new Ranger’s success story as we designed and developed this vehicle to challenge the conventional world of pickup trucks and provide customers with more class-leading safety features than ever," said Mark Kaufman, president, Ford ASEAN.

Same spec for Thailand, Malaysia & Philippines according to an Aussie Ford Tech I spoke to.

Does the variant being sold in Thailand have all the safety goodies that the one for the Malaysian market has?

It depends on what model grade you buy - only the Wildtrak's get side airbags, curtain airbags, stability control, traction control, etc.

In other markets, these are also available on the XLT grade - but not here.

Can someone Shoot those Bean Counters, so that when we buy a Top Model its the same Worldwide. Then list the bits missing off lower Models ,or is that too honest.sad.png

You still have to give Ford some Kudos - they were the first to offer the full Western safety kit in a pickup (2011 Wildtrak), first to offer it the B segment, first in the C segment too.

Only on top models though yes, because they need to compete on price elsewhere.

The real complaint should be why won't Thai buyers pay for it? You can't ignore people who vote with their wallets.

Thais obviously don't care about safety - look how many lose their lives on the roads here.
