Any major issues? Is it wise to own a used Prius?

I know of 2 people who've owned one, only one of them still does.

Biggest issues they both cite are:

1. Soi dogs (they don't hear you coming) - I can also cite that one myself (though my hybrid is not a Prius, and makes enough tire noise to be less of an issue)

2. Speed humps (it scrapes over them).

3. Interior plastics scratch easily

The friend who sold his, I think I only saw it a couple of times without a smashed up front bumper / story of another dead dog.

So a potential solution to Thailand stray dog problem was thwarted when Toyota discontinued the Prius.

Those sneaky soi dogs have more political clout than I thought.
