PARIS: -- ISIL Islamist militants have posted a video appearing to celebrate last week’s Paris attacks.

The images were released by Furat Media, which according to the Site Intel monitoring group, is a media affiliate of ISIL. They showed three purported French ISIL fighters answering questions about the shootings and bombings.

In it they threatened further violence and called Muslims living in France to be patient. ISIL has claimed responsibility for Friday’s coordinated onslaught in Paris.

France which has vowed to vanquish terrorism, launched a third round of raids on ISIL targets overnight in Syria .Ten of its warplanes are said to have hit the militant’s HQ in Raqqa, according to the French ministry of defence.

France’s aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle is due to leave for the Eastern Mediterranean to continue airstrikes on a designated sites including where foreign fighters are suspected of being trained.

France will have 36 fighter jets in the region once the Charles de Gaulle reaches the zone which should be Thursday.

"Although al-Abadi and other Iraqi and U.S. officials haven’t attached a dollar sign to the lost weaponry and vehicles, a back-of-the-envelope calculation of those losses might look something like this:

  • 2,300 Humvee armored vehicles @ $70,000 per copy. Total: $161 million
  • 40 M1A1 Abram tanks @ $4.3 million per copy. Total: $172 million
  • 52 M198 Howitzer mobile gun systems @ $527,337 per copy. Total: $27.4 million
  • 74,000 Army machine guns @ $4,000 per copy. Total: $296 million

The grand total comes to $656.4 million, but experts say those losses represent just a portion of the many hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of U.S.-supplied military equipment that has fallen into ISIS’s hands and is being used against the U.S. and allied forces on the ground in Iraq and neighboring Syria."

PS: Was it really an accident or more like a big screw-up based on Obama's desire not to see any substantial number of U.S. military "boots on the ground"?

US military vehicles, aircraft and tanks were equipped with Blue Force Tracking system. It's basically a GPS system that traces friendly vehicles used since Gulf war 2.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Force_Tracking

Do we have to believe that the Iraqi Army paid for options like cupholders instead of the Blue Force Tracking systems.

Was it too much to equip all new Syrian and Iraqi Toyota's with GPS trackers ?

What a joke !

and we are blaming the Russians and the Chinese for arming them.

Don't the American factories keep records of sales?

I can understand the Ak47 but how do they get American stuff without Americans knowing?

Model in OP is not a standard export model. It's a modified version with scope option.

Iraqi Army used the standard version of M-16 rifles.

Hah! The Iraqi Army (such as it is) paid for anything?

The joke is on the U.S. Taxpayer (yep, aka Sheeple) and the U.S. national debt.

Not to mention a lot of dead people who aren't now even capable of laughing.

This is what happens when the magic electoral wand is waved and a community organizer (who probably can't even play chess) is promoted to U.S. Commander in Chief.

And what about the Obamawellian intrigue and politics among the Pentagon, Iraqis, Syrian rebels, Kurds, Turks (and many more), you ask? I'm sure those communities were well-organized (between golf games and fund-raisers).

Does anyone here believe HRC would be up to the task of U.S. Commander in Chief?

EoR

P.S.: I'm sure ISIS "folks" have found and tripped the circuit breakers to the Blue Force Tracking subsystem.

All they have to do is go to YouTube and watch the video.

Maybe there's an Arabic version by now ... that they made and uploaded.

That will leave them with only the militarized $1,069.48 ea. cupholders. biggrin.png

Fell into does not quite describe it ... they walked across the Syria/Iraq border and picked it up where it had been left for them. What they did not get this way the so called Syrian freedom fighters brought it with them when they deserted and joined the Caliphate.
