From the full article: Earlier, national police chief Pol Gen Chakthip Chaichida ordered officers to step up their crackdown on criminal gangs and those using fake passports to enter the country.

So by stepping up their crackdown, they are saying 5 years is the limit on fake or stolen passports???

No. Clearly you said that.

Hmmm...French Police Inspector Clouseau will arrive here soon to escort the French criminal back to France.

"Monsieur, may I have a luck at the Men's Fack Pissport"

Cheers

Idiot.

Why so....because he's an Ex Criminal using a false passport to enable him to get away and start a new life???...There's a lot of idiots in the world then...not as if this is the first one we have ever heard of.

Blimey, who robs banks nowadays? I thought those days had long gone as more and more money (and fraud) went online. Plus the chances of being caught are so high with CCTV and DNA profiling.

And how this guy has been getting away with doing his 90 day check ins with a fake passport for 5 years beggars belief.

Looks to me like he has had a good run and should be grateful,, goodbye scumbag.

Maybe just an ordinary bloke trying to rebuild a new life. Stigmatised after his prison time. It's a crime end of, but I for one won't condemn lightly.

I'm all for someone trying to turn their life around and start again, but this guy used a fake passport! At the end of the day if you don't want bank robbery and a 10 year stretch haunting you for the rest of your days then don't do the crime.

For à french criminal, the bigots reserved only one page of mild comments. If he were Nigerian, Russian, an Arab or... The TV racist community would have been more active. Sick

So, nothing to complain about, so why are you complaining?

Don't condone racist comments but perhaps wait to complain when they actually exist.

Tip of the Iceberg i would say. There must be hundreds, if not thousands of people here with fake documents. Many of them never report to anyone at any time and live in the shadows behind Thai families.

Where was him on November 13 ?

:-)

If that is an attempt at humour by referencing the terrorist attrocity carried out in Paris you should take a long hard look at yourself.

you think that's funny?, after your posturing on the no booze topic, this just confirms how strange and unsuitable for life in Thailand you are. Go home.

Where do I indicate I find humour in the post I responded to? Show me the exact words that I used to show this.

Why was he not using his own passport what was he hiding from ?

:A criminal record check showed that the man had been imprisoned for 10 years in France. Police said they suspected he might have been involved in a bank robbery in his country."

(A wise man can learn more from a foolish question...
...than a fool can learn from a wise answer.)
I'm having difficulty figuring out who is the fool and who is the wise one??

I see your point but logic says if he used his own passport then he wouldn't have been permitted to enter Thailand or anywhere else for that matter. And turning your life around with a 10 year conviction stigmatising you, not easy. The thing is we all need to be cut a break sometimes, if he served his due time he served his time, it is not right that it goes on and on imho. I suppose if he had his time again he wouldn't have done the idiotic bank robbery. Anyway looks like another stretch awaits, as using a false passport is a serious crime as opposed to merely overstaying. Still at least he has had some experience of porridge, now for the rice variety.

Sheer conjecture of course, for all we know he may be the dirtiest, meanest, ...... that ever walked the earth.
