Bank account frozen
NON-IMMIGRANT visas aren’t really long stay. The initial visas are only good for three months, which is actually shorter than the DTV. The yearly extension make them “permanently temporary” as people have wryly noted. -

Accident Multiple Injured in Pattaya Motorcycle Collision
Technically... you can't quote Milli Vanilli..... they lip-synched !! There is clear signage at the junctions running parallel to the railway lines, yet locals routinely blow through them without a second thought. The rules are obvious, the warnings are visible – but habit and recklessness seem to take precedence over common sense. One poster on this forum pointed out in the past (after a previous incident), when everyone ignores the junction, those who do follow the rules are left to bear the consequences if they get hit, he pointed out that accidents are the fault of those crossing the railway line... which is of course technically incorrect. The fault isn’t theirs – it’s a direct result of a culture of carelessness and disregard for safety that has become normalised. -

Thailand forces closure of more than 1000 cannabis stores
Again and again, cracking down on anything foreign-related in the first place. Cannabis shops in Pattaya, night venues, foreign owned bank accounts, foreign owned property, innumerous visa rule changes in the last 10 years, more and more double pricing and so on and so on… What is wrong with these people and this country? I don’t even think it has something to do with a true Thai tradition. We all know how open and openminded this country and its people were just 20-30 years ago. And now… what a shame! -

Defying RFK Jr, pediatric group urges COVID shots for young kids
The news above is part of a broader trend and pattern emerging in the U.S. public health community, where many private medical and public health associations have begun collaborating to make their own recommended vaccination policies -- in the wake of RFK Jr. recently summarily firing all members of the CDC's independent vaccines advisory panel and replacing them with his hand-picked assortment of anti-vaxers and vaccine skeptics / misinformation spreaders. The various public health and medical associations have spoken publicly about their plans to lobby and work with the various major private health insurers in the U.S. to have them continue to cover vaccinations recommended by the country's medical and public health expert organizations, regardless of what RFK Jr's newly formed advisory group recommends. Per the above Washington Post report: "The AAP and other professional organizations have been holding discussions with insurance companies to continue covering the shots based on guidance from professional associations rather than the federal government. O’Leary said insurers “are signaling that they are committed to covering our recommendations.” AHIP, the major insurance lobby, has said its members are committed to continue paying for respiratory virus vaccines this season." https://archive.ph/bPtpr https://downloads.aap.org/AAP/PDF/AAP-Immunization-Schedule.pdf
