Obama says no credible intelligence of threat to U.S. homeland during holidays
BY BNO NEWS

WASHINGTON: -- There is no specific and credible intelligence to suggest that a terrorist attack is being planned in the United States during the holidays, U.S. President Barack Obama says, emphasizing that “every possible step” is being taken to keep the nation’s homeland safe.

“As we go into Thanksgiving weekend, I want the American people to know that we are taking every possible step to keep our homeland safe,” Obama said, speaking at the White House. “Right now, we know of no specific and credible intelligence indicating a plot on the homeland.”

Obama was speaking after receiving a briefing from his national security team, which was attended by a number of senior officials, including Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, and FBI Director James Comey.

It's really quite pitiful how the US media has worked itself into a frenzy.

Almost as pitiful as the fact that the President needs to reassure people about it.

There's more chance of a gang shoot out at the Macy's parade, or perhaps the Police opening up on a few black people.

While it is commendable that the President took time away from fighting climate change to address American citizenry...I know of no one who is overtly concerned about immediate terrorists threats at this time...

One should always be vigilant when traveling by air...otherwise...just enjoy until they do come...and since they are already here...they will make their move one day...

Obama is hoping they will wait until he is safely out of the White House before they unleash terror upon the US...his leading by the seat of his pants is not an effective antidote...

The people most fearful of attack are in NYC and along the NE coast and DC and in southern California's big cities. I don't think people in Omaha are too concerned. In fact, the next time NYC or Boston gets hit, a lot of Americans might just shrug their shoulders and tell them they shouldn't have brought in all the muslimists.

America is a dangerous place. Guns are everywhere. Edgy cowards walking around with guns. It's a crazy place.

130 people in Paris? Americans shoot more than 130 people every couple of days. Men, women and children are being slaughtered.

America is safe from terrorists. Obama has it right as usual.

The media loves to talk about terrorists. It's like a shark attack. Less than 20 people a year die by a shark attack. It sells eyes on the TV. Who cares if 35,000 people a year are killed by guns? It's so common it's not interesting.

Republicans have only one thing to sell to the electorate. Fear. Fear is the key component. Elect me or you'll die. Yet, the most dangerous thing in America (guns) is nurtured by the Republicans. They love their guns, because they're scared. The NRA owns the Republican party.

Last week the Republicans refused to close the gun laws that allow suspected terrorists to buy guns. Republicans don't really care about terrorists. They love their guns. NRA said don't vote for this law and they voted it down.

We've met the enemy and the enemy is us. Bang. Bang.
