Monk/Alms Giving Festival?

Featured Replies

While just outside of downtown, I saw one of those advertising hiluxes drive by with a picture of many monks walking down rows of people in white kneeled for alms giving. It drove by too fast and I was inside a shop so I could not see the details or understand what was being said on the speaker.

If anybody can provide details with the date(s)/time(s) of this I would highly appreciate it.

Everything is a festival here...

10,000 monks parade 27 Dec 2015.

They usually walk down Huay Keow Road and around the moat.

I've got a yellow shirt: give to me too.

Jokes aside i've seen one CM parade of monks, 100s walking through town but on the street festooned with flower petals tossed by the faithful. Impressive.

They need more temples and more gold. This has nothing to do with Buddhism.
