didn't this already exist or is this a new branch?

Must be a new one. There is one on the moat right across the street that goes to the Waroros market. It started out as a franchise Dukes burger.

Not sure on the spelling have two maps one spells it Waroros and the other Warorot market.facepalm.gif

Loco Elvis is on the corner of Rajwithi--Fat Elvis is further down near to Zoe In Yellow--I had a Burger, well actually 2, because I went with my daughter--and they were fine, no problems, good burgers. The decor is a little, err spartan, but that could be due to the fact that they have only just re-opened--anyway, burgers were good. Beer prices were a little high, but I guess that's par for the course in that area.

can we expect another incarnation of Elvis selling burgers in the coming months with a different name?

more importantly which Elvis is better FAT or LOCO as I'm not satisfied

I was very bearish on The Game, even before I knew the owner was a swindler. Fat Elvis may actually be a success. I walked by on Thursday, and looked at the menu, as shown above....seems realistic. He's got a good location, good foot traffic, and a stream-lined menu...meaning they don't claim to make everything under the sun, and then off goes the motorbike, when it is finally ordered. I don't know what hours they will serve, but the early bar closings might work for them. The burger place on the corner of Chiang Moi has been run into the ground, and doesn't appear to offer value or quality. That street may even be better than all the places on MM, that have also been beaten into the ground. The burger theme fits in better with the backpacker crowd, that is prevalent around there. Any place around there is a rent increase from going out of business, but this owner has very local experience. Hopefully, he got a long lease with fair rent, or even bought the place for the 10 million+ it might command, but then again Cosy corner sold for 20 million+ and doesn't seem to be able to match the revenue of a good noodle stand.

baby if i made you mad..... ;-)

Sorry just jesting, for what its worth I don't get the use of the name, can only assume they are Elvis fans!

Digressing a fair bit have you seen the Elvis "singer" at the food court at Kad San Keow? From someone who isn't a big fan of Elvis he certainly leaves a lot to be desired, Amusing but poor is a polite way of describing him. Is that Fat or Loco Elvis by any chance?

I have a Suspicious Mind that they are not Elvis fans

A Little Less Conversation about Elvis' weight might not lead to a Blue Christmas.

No, the guy in the Blue Food Court is the "Old Elvis". Certainly in keeping with the general vibe of the place -- 40 baht bowl of noodles, and a tower of Chang with your mates. Hey, life doesn't any better than this in Chiang Mai, does it? Who needs to spend more for a night out? They even have a beer babe in a tight dress.

Honestly, those French fries photographed in Post 1 look very ordinary. I would not pay for them. Oh well, I guess they can only improve!

haha I think 99.99% of people associate Elvis with the Pelvis not some fat guy whose ma or pa gave him the middle name :)

When I owned a music restaurant on the river I got an Elvis impersonator to do an hour each night over the weekend. It was only after he'd been with us a few weeks that I heard that his nick-name was Elvis Maow, and he was doing his best to live up to his moniker, spending more time drinking with the customers than on the stage. He soon became Jobless Elvis.

Thanks for posting this, my two favorite meals - a great burger with homemade fries, and a 3 egg omelet.

I will soon be a customer.

Spent just over one hour today in Fat Elvis around 3pm. Enjoyed an omelet - tasty, homefries were very good, only complaint was white toast, I only eat whole wheat or multigrain - but all else was good. I always bring a book to restaurants and do a little reading. Will be going back to try the burgers soon.

Not a small place, quite a few seats, but I was the only customer up to a couple minutes before leaving when one other guy showed up. I realize that is a slow time of day but other restaurants in the area had some customers, some were very busy.

Are the french fries cut and made fresh in site? Not like them things full of powder and look like tooth picks.

I had a bacon cheeseburger with fries yesterday. Good burger, fries homemade and pretty good. Only complaint is they do not have vinegar for the fries which most Canadians and Brits prefer over mayonnaise. Suggest they add malt and cider vinegar to their menu.

Arrived around 5pm left shortly after 6pm - only 3 other customers in total ?
